Smith Rock

Smith Rock is one of my favorite climbing locations, the Oregon high desert is full of amazing sights and spectacular animals. One of the things that sets Smith Rock apart as a climbing location is not just the world class climbs, and the mass of climbers from all over the place. Its not even the fact that Smith Rock is the birthplace of American sport climbing. But rather the fantastic Gold Eagles, Peregrine Falcons and Bald Eagles who make there homes all around the park. These birds are often spotted above climbers and perched on the high cliffs.
